Our Story
How the women entrepreneurs of Rajbari came together to form their own chamber.
Rajbari has always had enterprising women — running tailoring shops, food businesses, handloom units, beauty parlours, poultry farms and retail stores across the district.
What they lacked was a common platform: a place to share knowledge, speak with one voice to authorities and banks, and reach buyers beyond their own neighbourhoods. Many were running informal businesses without trade licences, bank accounts or access to credit.
In 2025 a group of women business owners from Rajbari Sadar, Goalanda, Pangsha, Baliakandi and Kalukhali began meeting regularly to discuss these challenges. Their conversations grew into a proposal for a dedicated women's chamber for the district.
“We didn't want to ask for a seat at someone else's table. We wanted to build our own table — and invite everyone.”
In 2026 the chamber received its licence (No. 12/2026) and opened its office at T&T Para, Sajjankanda, Rajbari Sadar. Today Rajbari WCCI is working to bring every woman entrepreneur in the district into a network of support.
